Here is our Christmas!

We had such a wonderful Christmas. As you can see it was very eventful! Alexandria had a ton of fun, having Grandpa and Grandma here for Christmas, decorating a gingerbread house, opening presents, and going to the National Natural History Museum. Henry, I am sure, loved the attention and being held constantly by the Grandparents. He is getting so big so fast. And I know it is because he eats constantly; he has really beefed up. He has seamlessly become part of the family; Alexandria loves him so much and is great big sister.

Alexandria has such great fine motor skills. She was getting those tiny candies on so well, and she loved every minute of decorating!

So many great things!

Our New Addition!!!!

Henry Donald Eastman
Born December 8, 2009 @11:30 am
8 lbs 10 oz
20 inches long

Our Journey:

The plan was to have a scheduled induction for a v-back at 1:00 pm on Dec. 7. We were not able to get in at that time due to some high risk deliveries that happen over the weekend which kept the Labor and Delivery rooms full a lot longer than normal. So then it ended up to be waiting game (which I guess all of pregnancy and labor are.) My doctor would call every 2hrs with an update, and finally we were able to get in at 10:00 pm that night. By the time we arrived I was already having small contractions but not enough to put me into active labor. So I was put on Pitosin at 1:00 am. I was in active labor for more than ten hours with no change in my cervix. Meaning my cervix was completely closed. Even with great contractions (with epidural) I just would not dilate. Henry also wouldn't drop. The doctor told us that he must be in an awkward position or wedged in just right and it wouldn't matter the level of pitosin or the number of contractions, he was just not dropping. So with almost ultimate despair (I am a such drama queen) we decided to go with another c-section. It was actually very heartbreaking for me, and I didn't want to say yes, but with many prayers and thoughts all throughout we decided and felt that this would be the best thing for me and the baby. So at 11:30 am on Dec. 8th Henry was born via c-section! I put an exclamation because he was finally here with us and we were so happy to see and hold the cutie, but not because the c-section went just peachy.

I am feeling good now and recovery is going great but at the time of the c-section it was a little crazy. During the operation I realized that I could feel pain in my abdomen on my right side. Not the actual incision but an awful pain just above that. I let the anestheiologist know and she was quick to dose me with more drugs. But with the all the drugs and pain I started to get really sick and light headed. She was then quick to give me drugs for that. The reason I tell you this is because I praise and am grateful for the great work that she did as well as everyone on the team. Praise anestheiologists!!

Now that that is behind us and a great recovery is on the way, we can focus on this great gift from God. I am so grateful for all the gifts I have been given; my life, my husband, my children, my family, my friends, and for every blessing that God has given me.

And with that here are some pictures of our little Henry!

He is such a good little baby. He cried for a little while right after he was born and has only cried a little since. He doesn't mind being undressed and naked. And just as I write he got some blood drawn and didn't even wake up. He is just a chill and content little baby, which allows mommy and daddy to get some rest. We love him so much. One more day and Alexandria will be able to see her baby brother, I am so excited!!

Halloween and update

Everything is going good. We are now just waiting until Alexandria's baby brother comes. These last couple months seem like they have lasted an eternity, but not too much longer. I don't think I ever really officially announced that I am pregnant so my due date is December 15th. I had a c-section with Alexandria because she was breach, but now I am going to try a v-back. I've have never felt any part of labor so I am a little nervous. But for some reason I think everything will go smoothly. Maybe it is just wishful thinking.

Alexandria is completely potty trained to date and it is so nice. It was all-in-all pretty simple and really nice that we won't have to buy double the diapers when our boy comes. Aaron is doing good. His semester hasn't been too hard so he hasn't been stressed and has been around a little more which is so nice since I can't move very well or pick Alexandria up. It is definitely harder to be pregnant with a toddler. Aaron has been a great help though and gives great back massages.

HALLOWEEN

Alexandria loved being a pirate, and of course she looked so cute. She loved celebrating Halloween, but some of it definitely got to her head. She watched Halloween Disney, like pooh, little Einsteins, etc. And now she scared of "bad guys," ghosts, and spookables as she likes to say. Any little kid with mask on she would scream and say "bad guy" then make daddy pick her up. I've never seen her so scared. I felt so bad. She is still talking about it.

Trick-or-Treating

Love the face.

I am somewhat proud or our jack-o-lantern.

This looks like a staged pic. It looks like her hair a blowing
and has a seductive look on her face. I think it is so funny.

Another silly face

summer 09'

This is an update on our summer. First in May, Aaron's parents came to Virgina and spent some time with us and saw the sights. In June we had a family reunion in Washington with Aaron's family. Then Alexandria and I went to Las Vegas for a week. Then we spent a month and a half in Utah and during that time we went to the Comin reunion in Idaho. Aaron was able to come to some of his reunion but then had to come home for the rest of his semester. And then met up with us in Utah at the beginning of August. And just for the record, spending a six weeks away from your spouse is torture. I would highly recommend against it.

The time was a lot of fun and it was great to see everyone. Alexandria especially misses everyone now that we are home, but it is nice being able to get back into the swing of things.

The pictures are in order of the most resent on down.

One of Alexandria's many b-day presents, which she just wanted to dress herself up.

We spent a day with Annie, Landon, Sarah, Timmy, and Uncle Will at a place called kangaroo zoo, that had a warehouse full of blow up jumpy castles and slides. I was actually a lot of fun. We all ran around and jump, slid, and played.

Alexandria sliding down one of the slides.

These were the coolest bubbles ever. I can't remember what they are called but they don't pop forever and when you pop them they can make a little popping sound.

Alea and Alexandria riding some horses. Alexandria absolutely loved it.

This dragonfly was huge and really cool, but Alexandria was deathly afraid of it.

Getting ready to go to Seven Peaks. We were able to go a lot with a seasons pass. I would say that Alexandria's favorite pass time is being in the water. She goes nuts in the water.

Pool party at my moms. Happened on many occasions.

Eastman reuion. Cooper and Alexandria were inseperable. Cooper would grab her had and walk with her all the time.

Disney World

April 10-18 we went to Disney World. Me, Alexandria, my mom, step dad, brother, sister, and niece all were able to go! It was so much fun, extremely exhausting, but fun! Here are just a few pictures of our time there.

This was common for Alexandria, she was completely exhausted by the end of the day!

My Bro

Just a cute picture

The buildings in the background is a back drop. Isn't that cool!

More backdrops.

Cousins hanging out looking at a phone.

It looks like Alexandria is giving a hang loose sign.

The tree of life at the Animal Kingdom. Which was one of Alexandria's favorites. We went on a safari and saw giraffes up close, and other animals. (Giraffes were the best we could see).

He looked and sounded so much like Johnny Depp.

Sliding at one of the many kid play areas.

Merry-go-round. I know, Alexandria looks so enthused. She actually really enjoyed it.

One of the many parades.

They had fun riding like that.
